Military/Aerospace Conductive Heat Shrinkable EMI Cable Shielding System
CHO-SHRINK 1061 is an electrically conductive, heat-shrinkable material designed for lightweight EMI shielding of cables and connectors. Ideal for applications where weight savings are crucial, CHO-SHRINK comprises polyolefin heat shrinkable tubing, connector boots, and transition pieces coated with Chomerics’ unique silver-filled system. This cable shielding system enables straightforward assembly for complex wiring harnesses using standard heat shrink tubing heating tools. It offers excellent shielding and significant weight reduction compared to traditional metal braid systems, while also providing environmental protection against dust, moisture, and contaminants.
CHO-SHRINK maintains flexibility for easy cable routing and allows for simple repair or rework by cutting off the old material and installing new material. It is particularly suitable for medical device electronic assemblies that require reliable EMI shielding and can benefit from silver’s antimicrobial properties. Typical applications include missiles, aircraft, satellites, vehicles, and any other electronic systems where weight savings are essential.

- CHO-SHRINK connector boots provide EMI shielding, cable shield grounding, and strain relief at connector backshell terminations
- CHO-SHRINK boots shrink to a wide range of cable diameters (shrink ratio is 4:1 at the cable end). They can be supplied with a conductive hot melt adhesive/sealant applied to each end
